Racksen
Racksen is a municipality in the district of Old Churches ( Westerwald) in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Old churches.
Geographical location
Racksen consists of two approximately equal-sized districts Racksen and wet. It is located about 1.5 km west of the state road 256 between Bruchertseifen and Eichelhardt and 1.5 km east of the former Franciscan monastery Marienthal.
History
1653 a Philip Roeder is mentioned by the wet, the leased the " Alps Roder mill " in Alpenrod - Hirtscheid. There has long been a close collaboration with the village Isert, with the two existing districts had in 1860 built a common schoolhouse: the so-called " home in the sun ", now privately owned and used as a residence. 1989 was again jointly built by the three villages, a community center.

Parish council
The local council in Racksen consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
Economy
At the site there is a stud for mini Shetland ponies. Other agricultural use is no longer in place.
