Racławice Śląskie

Racławice Śląskie, formerly Racławice Niemi Eckie ( German German Rasselwitz ) is a village and part of the rural community Głogówek ( Oberglogau ) in the Polish province of Opole on the border with the Czech Republic. Due to the location of the river Osobłoga ( Hotzenplotz ) flows into Leobschutz - Troppauer hills. Until 1954 the town was the seat of the municipality of the same name.

History

1252 the village was first mentioned in the Bruno of Castle, Bishop of Olomouc in documents. 1371 there was a church. As of 1524, the village belonged to the parish Jägerndorf belonging. From 1595 were Rasselwitz and environment in the property of those of Oppersdorff. 1679 a school is mentioned. Between 1787 and 1789 a new church was built.

In 1876 the railway line Neustadt O.S. - German Rasselwitz - Leobschutz opened. In 1945 the expulsion of the German population, settled settled in their place eastern Poland, which in turn made ​​Horodenka (now Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast ) and Baranówka ( powiat Brzezany, Tarnopol Voivodeship ) and Rozyszcze ( powiat Luck, Volhynia province ) had been expelled.

Attractions

Among the architectural monuments of the city include the parish church of the Assumption, which was built in Baroque style according to the plans of the Italian architect Michele Clementi. In the church there is the image of Our Lady of Buszcze, which had been brought from the Ukrainian city Buszcze at Brzezany.

Traffic

In the village is the former stop on the disused railway line Prudnik - Raclawice - Głubczyce - Krnov the railway line Nysa - Prudnik - Kędzierzyn -Koźle. On this route there is the steel bridge over the Osobłoga.
