Radamel Falcao García Zárate ( born February 10, 1986 in Santa Marta ), called Radamel Falcao or Falcao, is a Colombian football player. His middle name Falcao his father gave him in reference to the Brazilian player Paulo Roberto Falcão.

In youth, Falcao played in the soccer school Lanceros fair play, for which he is already the age of 13 came in the second Colombian League for use, and in the Youth Section of the Club CD Los Millonarios from Bogotá. The age of 15, he joined the youth academy of the Argentine club River Plate CA.

With another goal in the semi-final game and the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory over SC Braga in the final, he secured his team's Europa League victory and increased at the same time his goal account on 17 goals ( in 14 games ), so he surpassed the previous record holder Jürgen Klinsmann, who scored 15 goals in the 1995/96 season.
In the Portuguese championship, FC Porto secured to the superior striking duo Falcao (16 goals) and Hulk (23 goals) ahead of time and unbeaten five games before the end of the season the title. With a 6-2 win against Vitória Guimarães in the cup final, finally, Porto made the profit of the small European Triples perfect. Falcao was voted in this year's election to the European Footballer of the year to fifth place.
Although Falcao had extended his contract with Porto until July 2015, the Spanish traditional club Atlético Madrid signed him on August 18, 2011. The striker signed a five -year contract.
