Radbruch

Radbruch is a municipality in the district of Lüneburg, in Lower Saxony. It has about 2000 inhabitants, a size of 22.54 km ² and is part of the integrated municipality Bardowick.

History

The first documentary reference to the place name is found in the chronicle " Memorabilia Historiae Luneburgicae " of 1269th This emerging " Radebrokii " may have been based in the Radbrucher area. The headquarters of Radbruch family was at the beginning of the 15th century may be attached. In the years 1450/51 to a scoring Bailiwick Pattensen Meyerhof is mentioned. In the 16th century, the bailiwick Radbruch was created as a special material within the Bailiwick Bardowick. This was the administrative seat of the Welf possessions in this area.
