Radek Bejbl

Radek Bejbl ( born August 29, 1972 in Nymburk ) is a former Czech football player.

Club career

The Czech started his professional career in 1990 with 18 years at SK Slavia Praha. He played rapidly in the starting lineup. His most successful season with the club saw Radek Bejbl 1995 /96 apply. Slavia Praha Czech Master was and reached the UEFA Cup semi-finals. This brought the entire team international attention. Finally, the Czech was lured away from the Spanish side Atlético Madrid.

With Atlético Madrid, he had both nationally - he reached twice the Spanish Cup final - as well as internationally in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup success, a title but Radek Bejbl could not win in Spain. After yet to descend from the Madrid Primera División place in 2000, the defender left after 105 league matches and 2 goals Spain. Radek Bejbl went to France for first division club RC Lens. In the second season at the French club Radek Bejbl was rarely used, so that he returned to his home to SK Slavia Praha at the end of season 2002.

However, Radek Bejbl could not connect with the association of past successes and in 2005 went abroad again. Until then, he had completed 240 league matches for Prague and also provided with 27 goals in the Czech league as his goalscoring defender proof. In 2005, the Czech finally came to Vienna for the Austrian first division club Rapid Vienna. In May 2007, but his contract with Rapid ran out, his contract was not renewed. He changed free transfer to FC Slovan Liberec. After the 2007/ 08 season Bejbl ended his career.

National

Radek Bejbl completed so far a total of 56 caps for the Czech Republic. His first international match he graduated, however, on 4th January 1992 in the former Czechoslovak Federal Republic, on 28 April 1993, he ran for the joint team of Czechs and Slovaks, RCS, on. Even in his youth Bejbl had played in Junior selections of Czechoslovakia.

The greatest success as a Czech national team was reaching the European Championship 1996 final against Germany. As part of this tournament the defender also achieved his first goal for the Czech Republic - the 2-1 victory against Italy. His last international match played Radek Bejbl in a 3-1 win against Northern Ireland in June 2001.
