Radek Bonk

Radek Bonk ( born January 9, 1976 in Krnov, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player. Since October 2009, he plays for HC Ocelari Třinec in the Extraliga on the position of the left winger.

Career

Bonk he grew up in the Czech city of Ostrava Krnov to close. He has three siblings. Early on it was discovered his talent for hockey. In his home country he played for ZPS Zlín. In 1993 he moved across the pond in the IHL Las Vegas Thunder. There he played a great season and was drafted in the NHL Entry Draft in 1994 by the Ottawa Senators in the first round in third place. He also managed in his first season the jump to the NHL, but could there do not fully meet the high expectations. In the first five years, he never got more than 35 points scorer out. Only then burst the node and Bonk was in the following years, among the top scorers of the senator. After 10 years, the paths of Bonk and the Senators parted. The strike season 2004/ 05 he spent in his native Czech Republic and then returned to the NHL. His first season with the Montreal Canadiens went through growing and the second ended without qualifying for the playoffs.

In summer 2007, he moved to the Nashville Predators. Before the season 2009/10 he signed a contract with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Kontinental Hockey League, but left the team after seven games and returned to the Czech Republic. There he plays since the HC Ocelari Třinec. With this he won at the end of the 2010/11 season the Czech league titles.
