Radek Philipp

Radek Philipp ( born February 12, 1977 in Ostrava, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player standing since 2009 when HC Sparta Prague in the Extraliga under contract.

Career

Radek Philipp started his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior section of the HC Vitkovice, for the first team, he made his debut in the Extraliga in the 1998/99 season. During the following season the defender moved within the Extraliga for HC Femax Havířov, but returned at the end of the season back to his hometown club HC Vitkovice, where he stood in the following three years as a regular player on the ice.

The season 2003/ 04 Philip spent in the Finnish SM- liiga, where he initially spent most of the main round at the Pelicans Lahti, before moving to their league rivals Espoo Blues just before the end of the main round. From 2004 to 2006, the Czech ran again for his former club HC Vitkovice in the Extraliga. He then joined Salavat Yulaev Ufa of the Russian Super League at, with whom he won the Russian championship in the 2007/ 08 season.

The 2008/09 season began when Philipp HC Košice in the Slovak Extraliga, but left that after only three games and moved to Luleå HF in the Swedish Elitserien. There he was able to convince so engaged him for the next season, the Russian Yekaterinburg club Awtomobilist from the Kontinental Hockey League. In December 2009, the former national team returned to the Czech Republic and signed a contract with the capital club HC Sparta Prague, for which he has performed since then.

Internationally

For the Czech Republic Philipp took in 2006 and 2007 at the Euro Hockey Tour in part. He played a total of nine games in which he remained no points and received 18 penalty minutes.
