Radim Vrbata

Radim Vrbata ( born June 13, 1981 in Mladá Boleslav, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player who is since 2009 in the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Radim Vrbata began his career in the youth of the HC Mladá Boleslav, the played until the end of 1997/ 98 in the Junior Extraliga. In the summer of 1998 he decided to move to North America and completed a total of three seasons in the QMJHL Hull Olympiques for the Cataractes de Shawinigan and. During the NHL Entry Draft in 1999, he was selected in the seventh round by the Colorado Avalanche in a total of 212 point. His first try at a men's team he had in the AHL playoffs in 2001, when he played a game for the Hershey Bears.

After he had returned to the Hurricanes in 2005, he was discharged on 30 December 2005 to the Chicago Blackhawks. In Chicago, he was able to improve his game and his yield point, but was still sent in the summer of 2007 to the Phoenix Coyotes, who submitted to the Blackhawks in exchange Kevyn Adams.

After a very successful season for Vrbata in Phoenix, he signed on 1 July 2008 a three -year contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Since there but he found himself very bad deal and scored only three goals in the first two months of the season, he was released at his own request by the team of Lightning and loaned to his hometown club BK Mladá Boleslav. This lent him a few weeks later at the HC Liberec from where Vrbata finished the season. Since Tampa but still had the transfer rights of the Czechs, they transferred him on 21 July 2009 back to Arizona for the Coyotes, who sent to Tampa in return Todd Fedoruk and David Hale.

Internationally

Radim Vrbata has participated in four world championships in his career: With the U20 national team, he won at the U20 World Cup in 2001 and the gold medal in 2003, 2005 and 2008 used in the World Championship for Men. He won the 2005 with his team the gold medal.
