Radio Belarus (formerly Radio Minsk ), the Belarusian international broadcasters based in Minsk.

History

Belarus Radio began broadcasting radio broadcasts on 11 May 1962 as Radio Minsk. It was first sent only in Belarusian language Belarusians outside the Soviet Union.

Since 1985 there is also a German -speaking program. Broadcasts in Russian and English languages ​​have been around since 1998, in Polish since 2006.

The amount of airtime is currently 16 hours a day in terrestrial broadcasting and 10 hours on the Internet.

Organization

Radio Belarus today is an organizational unit of the National State Radio and Television Company of the Republic of Belarus.

Frequencies

Radio Belarus sent, inter alia, on the medium wave transmitter on 1008, 1026 and 1125 kHz. FM transmitter operates Radio Belarus in Brest ( 96.4 MHz), Grodno ( 96.9 MHz), Swislatsch ( 100.8 MHz), Heranjony (99.9 MHz), Braslau ( 106.6 MHz) and Mjadsel (102, 0 MHz).

Since the beginning of February 2012, the broadcasts from Radio Belarus on medium wave and short wave have been severely limited. Most of the former frequencies are out of service. At the same time the wire radio network was partially shut down.
