Radio Suisse Romande

Radio suisse Romande ( RSR ) was the public radio provider of the French-speaking Switzerland. RSR is a business unit of SRG SSR idée suisse and has its headquarters in Lausanne. There is also a correspondent offices in Geneva, Neuchâtel, Fribourg, Sion, Delémont, Biel, Zurich and Bern. Director Gérard Tschopp. RSR had 2005 operating expenses of about 124 million Swiss francs, and on 31 December 2005 a staff of 491 full-time positions.

As at 29 February 2012, the Radio Suisse Romande went Télévision Suisse Romande, together with the on the new Radio Télévision Suisse ( RTS). The radio stations were no new names, but only new logos as opposed to the TV stations.

Programs

From RSR and the successor organization RTS four programs are currently being produced:

  • La Première is the first and most successful stations of the French-speaking Switzerland. The "First " is provided as a full program of broad strata of the population in 2008 reached an average of 553'060 people a day. The market share was 39.5 %.
  • Espace 2 is a cultural program. In section 2008 off 91'560 people a day, this corresponding to a market share of 3.4 %.

Reception

All RSR / RTS are to receive unencrypted over Europe Eutelsat Hot Bird in DVB-S method.
