Radioallergosorbent test
The radio Allergo - sorbent test (RAST ) is a diagnostic procedure that is used to detect specific antibodies of class E, for example, during investigation of allergy against it tested allergen ( for example, certain pollens, dust mite feces, animal allergen etc. ) are addressed. To this end, the antigens are bound as a solid phase to a paper plate or in more developed CAP- RAST (CAP stands for Carrier -polymer system) on a Zelluloseschwämmchen the classical RAST method.
In the classical RAST the classification ranges from 0 ( no specific immunoglobulin E against the tested allergen detectable) to 4 ( strong concentration of specific immunoglobulin E against the tested allergen detectable). In the CAP- RAST gradation ranges, however, from 0 to 6
It is important to know that not necessarily a relationship between the clinical symptoms ( allergy ) and obtained in RAST graduation must exist.
