Radiophysics

The field of radiation physics deals with the properties and the interaction of ionizing radiation with matter. Depending on the context here, different fields of physics in the foreground.

In the context of radiology, nuclear medicine, medical physics and radiation biology, the biological effects of ionizing radiation is investigated. Ionizing radiation is not always harmful to health ( radiation exposure ), but is also used in radiotherapy targeted to cure disease or delay its progression. In addition, imaging methods are a branch of Radiation Physics.
