Radomyshl

Radomyshl (Ukrainian Радомишль; Russian Радомышль ) is a city in the Zhytomyr Oblast in Ukraine with about 15,000 inhabitants (extrapolation 1 January 2005), situated on the river in the historic area Teteriw Polesia. Administratively, also includes the village Hluchiw Perschyj / Глухів Перший the borough.

History

The city was first mentioned in 1150 under the name Mitschesk ( Мічеськ ). From 1746 to 1795, the city was the seat of a Metropolitan of the Uniate Church ( Union of Florence).
