Raffaele Sannitz

Raffaele Sannitz ( born May 18, 1983 in Lugano ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Lugano of the National League A since 2005.

Career

Raffaele Sannitz began his career in 1998 as a hockey player in his hometown at the HC Lugano, the Swiss champion he was for the first time already in his rookie year in 1999. He could repeat this success with his team in 2003. In addition Sannitz reached with the HC Lugano at European level twice third in the IIHF Continental Cup in 2003 and 2004. Sannitz, who had been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in the seventh round in 2001 when a total of 204 players from the Columbus Blue Jackets, played in the season 2004/ 05 a year for their farm team in the American Hockey League, before he returned to Syracuse Crunch his former club Lugano. With the HC Lugano of the attackers won in 2006 for the third time the championship in Switzerland.

In September 2012, Sannitz was loaned for the rest of the season to the Kloten Flyers.

Internationally

For Switzerland Sannitz took part in the junior level at the U18 World Junior Championships in 1999 and 2001 and the U20 Junior World Championship in 2002. In the senior level Sannitz was in the squad of Switzerland to the A- World Championships 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 and at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
