The painting begun by Raphael Villa Farnesina was continued by his pupils Giulio Romano, Gianfrancesco Penni, Giovanni da Udine and Raffellino with the fresco cycle "Cupid and Psyche" 1517-1518. After Raphael's death (1520 ) Raffaellino stayed with Giulio Romano, with whom he painted frescoes in the Vatican in the Sala Costantino.

After the Sack of Rome in 1527 returned many outside artists back to their hometowns. Raffaellino settled near his birthplace Colle in Città di Castello, where he ran a painting workshop. He worked for the local churches, and received orders from Sansepolcro and other places. Between 1539 and 1543 he worked for the Duke of Urbino, Francesco Maria della Rovere,. Together with Girolamo Genga he decorated ducal order in the Camera dei Semibusti, the Sala della Calunni and Cabinetto Ercolano in the Villa Imperiale ( in Pesaro ) with frescoes.

Also in the following period is a collaboration with Vasari occupied, in Naples ( 1545 ), then in the refectory of the monastery of Monte Oliveto Maggiore and 1546 Palazzo della Cancelleria in Rome. In the same year Raffaellino worked for the Olivetans church in Gubbio, before he returned to Citta di Castello.
