Raggal

Raggal is a municipality in the district of Bludenz in Vorarlberg, Austria with 839 inhabitants (December 31, 2013).

Geography

The municipality is located in the westernmost province of Austria, Vorarlberg, the district of Bludenz to 1,015 meters above sea level. 47% of the area is forested, 19 % of the area Alps.

History

The Habsburgs ruled the areas in Vorarlberg changing of Tyrol and Further Austria from ( Freiburg im Breisgau). From 1805 to 1814, the town belonged to Bavaria, then back to Austria.

For the Austrian state of Vorarlberg Raggal heard since the foundation in 1861. The place was from 1945 to 1955 part of the French zone of occupation in Austria.

The road to the rear Walser Valley led to 1884 over this bridge. The Lasanggabrücke was built in 1789 and is the last remaining covered bridge in the valley. It is a listed building and is one of the oldest bridges in Vorarlberg. " Lasangga " comes from the Romanche and means something like " torrent ".
