Rahman Baba

Abdul Rahman Mohmand Pashto: عبدالرحمان مومند, also known as Rahman Baba, رحمان بابا, (* 1651, † 1709) was a Pashtun Sufi poet of the Order of Chishtiyya. He had been strongly influenced by the Persian Sufis of India and Iran (especially by Mowlana Rumi, Al -Haq, etc.) Its written in Pashto poems thematize addition to ethical issues particularly love and mysticism.

He is said to have led a reclusive and lonely life and was buried after his death in a cemetery near the city of Peshawar. His grave is still visited by pious pilgrims, also can be found there, as is usual in Chishti dervishes, often playing at his grave musicians, the religious songs.
