Raid (insecticide)

Raid is an international brand of SC Johnson & Son for different insect repellent products.

In the early 1950s brought the company Böhme Fettchemie the Paral brand on the German market. At that time the Paral - powder contained hazardous and questionable ingredients such as DDT and lindane. Today, instead, modern pyrethroids ( permethrin, tetramethrin ) are included. Should be remembered, however, that these substances act as nerve poisons all. Their use should therefore be considered cautiously. While the natural pyrethrum degrades relatively quickly under UV light exposure, the degradation of synthetic pyrethroids take much longer. The word derives from the Greek Paral - Neo-Latin " paralyze ", which means something " paralyze " like.

In 1963, the Paral brand was sold to the Thompson Group; this is since 1992 owned by the U.S. company SC Johnson & Son

Since 2007, the company SC Johnson & Son has renamed as part of its international standards and an improved international recognition the brand in Paral Raid. The Raid brand is one of the best-selling insecticide products worldwide.

The Raid range includes various sprays against various insect species, as well as anti - moth agent, bait boxes, food products against pests and mosquito plugs. The well-known flycatcher is also sold under the brand raid.
