Rainer Hertrich

Rainer Hertrich (December 6, 1949 in Ottengrün ) is a German manager.

Hertrich first completed an apprenticeship with Siemens as an industrial clerk before moving to Berlin and Nuremberg, studied business administration 1971-1977. After graduating, he went to MBB. Before joining the DASA 1990, he joined MBB on to a member of the divisional management. In 1991 he was Head of Controlling at DASA.

On January 1, Hertrich took over the business aviation drives the DASA and thus became CEO of engines and turbines - Union München GmbH (MTU Munich). On April 1, likewise year Hertrich moved up in the overall business management. Hertrich was on 15 March 2000 Chairman of Daimler Chrysler Aerospace AG.

In March 2000, Rainer Hertrich took over together with Philippe Camus the leadership of EADS ( European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company).
