Rainer Hoppe

Rainer Hoppe ( born January 26, 1962 in Duisburg ) is a German water polo player and coach.

He won the German water polo team at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles the bronze medal. In addition, he was with the national team in 1982 World Cup Third, 1985 Third European Championship and World Cup winner in 1985. Overall he played 142 international matches for Germany.

The club played Rainer Hoppe 1979-1998 in the Water Polo League for 98 Duisburg, SC Aegir Uerdingen, SSF Dolphin Wuppertal and Düsseldorf SC 1898. He was, among other things ten times German Vice Champion and one German Cup. In the years 1986, 1988 and 1990, he was top scorer in the German water polo league. He is with 1324 hits record scorer in the Bundesliga.

In 1997 he completed his studies as a graduate coach of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB ).
