Rainer Poser

Rainer Poser ( born May 14, 1941) is a former German boxer.

Career

Rainer Poser was delegated because of his boxing skills prospects in the junior age for SC Dynamo Berlin. There he developed into an excellent boxer who started to 54 kg body weight at a size of 1.64 meters always bantamweight, the weight class.

In 1961, he finished in the GDR championship in this weight class 2nd place by a defeat in the final battle against Robert Buchner from the SC Dynamo Magdeburg. But he was used this year still at the European Championships in Belgrade, was defeated there but against the experienced Swiss Fritz Chervet in the second round on points and was therefore only on the 9th Place.

In 1962, he was greatly improved in the championship of the protection and security organs of the former socialist countries in Łódź and reached the final battle in which he was defeated by Artur Olech controversial from Poland with 2:3 judges' votes.

1963 won Rainer Poser with a win over Horst Schlink from Schwerin SC tractor for the first time the East German champion bantamweight titles. At the European Championships in Moscow he won over Ken Buchanan of Scotland and Michailo Milzew from Bulgaria and was thus in the semifinals then perhaps the best bantamweight boxer in the world Oleg Grigoryevich Grigoriev from the USSR over, he was defeated by the on points. He thus won a European Championship bronze medal.

With another victory over Schlink was Horst Rainer Poser 1964 again GDR Champion. He then sat down in the excretion of a starting spot in the All-German Olympic team against Günter Geisler from Rünthe in Westphalia through and could therefore go at the Olympic Games in Tokyo at the start. In Tokyo, he met in his first fight on his nemesis Brunon Bendig from Poland, against which he had lost earlier in the three countries fighting. This time he moved against Bendig the shorter and subject to that almost 2:3 with judges' votes on points.

In 1965 the European Championships held in Berlin (East). Rainer Poser was there again bantamweight at the start. He won in the second round on Montibeller from Austria by techn. Knockout in the first round, but lost in the quarterfinals against Niculae Giju from Romania and thus arrived on the 5th Place.

Following these championships was Rainer Poser by association officials because of the fact that he did not win any medals in Tokyo and Berlin strongly criticized. It should be obliged to intensify the training and care in the private sector for less distraction. He refused to sign this pledge and was subsequently banned from the national team of boxers. But he could go again in 1966 as the " Dynamo" boxer in the GDR Championship at the start and with a win over Edwin Fielitz from ASK Vorwärts Frankfurt (Oder) secure his third championship.

Then he left the protection & security organs and began studying at the DHfK in Leipzig. Without support and placed more or less on his own, he then managed in the years 1967 and 1968 still to be two more times GDR - featherweight champion. In 1967, he defeated it in the final Bernd Drgalla the SC Dynamo Berlin and in 1968 Kurt Bollow from SC Traktor Schwerin. In the national team he was no longer recorded.
