Rainiharo

Rainiharo († February 10, 1852 ) was from 1833 to 1852 Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Madagascar.

He came from the nobility of the Merina - people and made a military career and was in a second marriage with the Queen Ranavalona I. married. His sons Rainivoninahitriniony and Rainilaiarivony became his successor in the office of head of government and commander in chief of the army. Rainiharo supported the Alt- Hova Party, which wanted to push back the influence of European countries and lifestyle.

In the office of prime minister, he tried to prevent the colonization by France or England. Persecution of Christians and the expulsion of almost all foreigners (especially the Christian missionaries ) should support this project.
