Rainy Lake

The Rainy Lake (French Lac à la Pluie ) is a 932 km ² large lake in the Canadian province of Ontario and the U.S. state of Minnesota.

It is located in Voyageurs National Park north of Lakes Kabetogama Lake and Namakan Lake. He is up to 50 meters deep, 80 kilometers long and 48 kilometers wide. It is situated on 338 meters and has about 1600 islands. He is a relic of prehistoric Lake Agassiz, who formerly covered an area 440,000 km ². It flows from through the Rainy River and is a popular fishing place.

In the lake following fish species are caught: Black Crappie, Pike, Stone perch, smallmouth bass and walleye.
