Rajab

The Rajab (Arabic رجب, DMG Raǧab ) is the seventh month of the Muslim calendar. As the month preceding the damage ʿ ban it follows the Dschumada th thaniyya. The name is derived from radschaba, which is translated as " respect " with; the month is nicknamed al - fard, " the only one ".

Importance

The Rajab in Islam is the month of the heavenly journey of the Prophet Mohammed ( on the night of the 27th day of the month, see al -Isra ) and is one of the four sacred months of the Islamic lunar calendar, however, was already in vormuslimischer time as a sacred month with a special importance: no feuds should be discharged during Rajab. The Rajab is considered an auspicious month for the implementation of the "little pilgrimage " Umra. In the ragha'ib - nights at the beginning of the month of conception of the prophet is thought. For some of the 11th and the 13th day of the month are considered negative days.

In Cairo middle of the month of Zaynab bint Ali was thought in Iran, this day was considered a " day of opening " on which the gates of heaven were opened. In the Indian space was thought to any Friday of the month of the Salar Mas ʿ ud.
