Rajcza

Rajcza is a village and seat of the rural community in the powiat Żywiec in Silesia and is situated in the southwestern part of the county.

Geographical location

Rajcza is located at the junction of the Jablunkov Saybuscher Beskydy mountains south of the city of Żywiec, on the border with Slovakia. Through the community of Soła River, which flows into the Vistula flows.

The town stretches in the valley of Soła and its tributaries, between several mountain ranges: the south Hutyrów (744 m ) in the west Mała Zabawa ( 798 m) and Zabawa ( 823 m ) in the northeast Sucha ( 1,040 m), and to the east Cupel (666 m) and Wilczy Gron ( 668 m).

History

In 1608 Rajcza was mentioned by 11 farms. 1669 John Casimir visited the village and donated a painting of the Black Madonna of Czestochowa on the future church, whose construction he had allowed. In November 1894 Rajcza was connected to the railway network Żywiec Čadca (SK), this is part of the link Krakow - Vienna. Several families in 1940 were driven action under the Saybusch.

The municipality has 9,059 citizens and extends over 131.17 km ². The population density is 70 inhabitants. / Km ².

The municipality consists of the following six districts ( sołectw ): Kiczora, Rajcza, Rycerka Dolna, Rycerka Gorna, Sól, Zwardoń.

Neighboring communities are GOPR Milówka, Ujsoły. The municipality borders with Slovakia.

From Rajcza from there a bus service to the surrounding villages and by Żywiec.
