Rakovica, Croatia

Rakovica is a municipality in Karlovac County in Croatia. It has 2,387 inhabitants ( 2011 census ). On the territory of the municipality Rakovica are the Barac's caves ( kroat. Baraćeve špilje ).

The municipality Rakovica lives almost exclusively from tourism. The once agriculturally oriented town increasingly became an important stopover for tourists on their way to the sea. Here Rakovica benefits from its proximity to the Plitvice Lakes National Park, and with private accommodation also offers alternatives to hotels in the lakes.
