Ralf Briese

Ralf Briese ( born March 2, 1971 in Leer ( Ostfriesland); † 9, 2011 in Oldenburg ( Oldenburg) ) was a German Green politician. Since 2003 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament.

Life

Ralf Briese attended primary school and the orientation stage in Jemgum and made in 1991 on Teletta large -Gymnasium empty the Abitur. After the civil service, he worked from 1992 to 1993 as a development worker in Bangladesh. He then studied at the Carl -von- Ossietzky -Universität Oldenburg, politics, education, sociology, geography and economics and was qualified teacher. The study he interrupted for training as a nurse; in this profession, he worked at Klinikum Oldenburg. From 2001 to 2003 he was a member of the Green Party politician and Member of Parliament Thea Dückert.

Briese suffered from depression. The cause of death is a suicide, it is assumed at the weekend between 7 and 9 October 2011.

Political career

Ralf Briese occurred in 1998 when the Greens. 2003 and 2008 he was elected on the regional list in the Lower Saxony state parliament. He was of domestic and municipal policy spokesman of the parliamentary group of the Greens. Ralf Briese was a member of the Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs and the verification of credentials. In addition, since 2006 Briese was alderman of the city of Oldenburg.
