Ralf Bummi Bursy (born 18 January 1956 in Berlin ) is a German pop and rock singer and music producer who was successful in the GDR and particularly popular until 1989.

Life

Bursy initially trained as a mechanical and plant mechanic and later a correspondence course at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler". From 1977 to 1979 he sang in the hard rock band Rainbow. This was the result of a school band, founded together with friends, was the program primarily consisted of re-enactment titles of Uriah Heep and Deep Purple. Known to a wider audience, he was by the song You make me love the appearance of the band as part of the National Youth Festival of the GDR in 1978. Between 1979 and 1981 he was then singer of the band biscuit before joining in 1982 the band principle.

After the separation of the band in July 1986, he began a solo career under the stage name Ralf Bummi Bursy. Musically, he was accompanied by Conny Bauer ( trombone), Ferry Grott (trumpet ), Rene Decker (saxophone ), Reinhard Pete riding (guitar), Judit Tudor ( background) and the pop- jazz band flair. Until 1989, published in the DDR board manufacturer Amiga two albums, another was published in 1992 by the Amiga successor company DSB. The wind in your face LP sold over 100,000 copies in the GDR. Six years later appeared at BMG a newly compiled selection of his most famous tracks.

After 1992 he worked as a producer, including for Nena, Veronika Fischer and PM Sampson, and a service provider for the company Jay Kay Music Entertainment.
