Ralf Isau

Ralf Isau ( born 1 November 1956 in Berlin ) is a German writer.

Life

He first worked as an organization programmers, computer resellers, systems analyst and branch manager of a software company, project manager and since 1996 as an independent IT consultant. At that time he had already published a children's book and three novels. For writing, he came in 1988 when he joined the Neschan trilogy with the work. In 1992, he handed Michael Ende on reading a small, self- bound book of fairy tales ( The Dragon Gertrude ), which he had written for his daughter. Recommended him to the end Thienemann Verlag, where Ralf Isau published since then more than a dozen novels for younger and older readers who have been translated into fifteen languages ​​and have won several prizes. Since 2002 he has devoted himself entirely to writing.

A feature of his novels, which he himself describes as " Phantagone ", is the mixing of fiction with historical facts. With novels such as The Silver Sinn ( 2003) and The Lord of the unrest (2004) dared Ralf Isau the step from YA to adult literature. In the novel, The Gallery of lies Or: the unwary sleeper (2005) he deals with the Darwinian theory of evolution, which he rejects in favor of a based on Intelligent Design perspective.

In the language Ralf Isau sees a cultural asset that needs to be maintained and preserved. It can resonate in his stories This concern with the means of fantasy often. The clearest he addresses it in his novel Pala and the strange disappearance of words (2002 ), in which an entire city is attacked by a mysterious speechlessness. Isau lives with his wife in Asperg near Ludwigsburg.
