Rally Argentina

The Rally Argentina is one year since 1980 (except 1982) held rally event near Villa Carlos Paz, Córdoba province. With the exception of the years 1995 and 2010, the rally has always belonged in the calendar of the FIA World Rally Championship. Currently, she is the only rally world championship race in South America.

History

In 1980 the first rally was extended in the province of Tucumán. It was organized by the Automovil Club Argentino. The winners of the German Walter Röhrl and Christian spirit villages were on a Fiat 131 Abarth. 1981 the competition took place also in Tucumán. After a break in 1982 changed for 1983, the location of the event to San Carlos de Bariloche and the following year in the province of Córdoba, where the rally is taking place ever since. 2007 was one of the stages in the Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti in Buenos Aires held at the Estadio Olímpico Chateau another Carreras of Córdoba.

Overall winner

With now six WRC victories in series of Frenchman Sébastien Loeb is the record holder of wins in the Rally of Argentina. In three wins so far came from both the Finn Tommi Mäkinen (1996 to 1998) and the Italian Miki Biasion, however not managed a hat trick.
