Rally de Portugal

The Rally of Portugal is the biggest rally event, which will take place in Portugal. The rally was first held in 1968 and had since 1973, initially for 29 years world championship status. From 2002 to 2006 it was not represented on the calendar. The course, which is one of the rally from 2007 back to the FIA ​​World Rally Championship, has no resemblance to the original course. Instead in the region around Porto will now be moved to the Algarve, mainly on gravel roads.

The most successful driver in the Rally of Portugal is Markku Alén with five victories (1975, 1977, 1978, 1981 and 1987).
