Ralph Boston

Boston stood at three Olympic Games on the podium. In 1960 he took in Rome with 8.12 meters gold medal, followed in 1964 by Tokyo silver with 8.03 meters behind the British Lynn Davies, who continues jumped four inches. The games of 1968 as the reigning world record holder was traveling Boston in the role of favorites to. The best jump of 8.35 meters, he had three years previously placed in Modesto. After the " century leap " by Bob Beamon over 8.90 meters in the first round, however, it was clear that Boston would be no repeat of the success of 1960. He brought it to 8.16 meters and thus won bronze behind the East German athletes Klaus Beer.
