Ralph Johnson (computer scientist)

Ralph E. Johnson ( born October 7, 1955) is an American computer scientist and university teacher. He is professor at the " Department of Computer Science" at the University of Illinois at Urbana -Champaign and one of the authors of the influential computer science - the book Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software.

Johnson was an early pioneer of the Smalltalk programming language and supports that language to this day. He has held various leadership roles at the conference " ACM Object-Oriented Programming, Systems, Languages ​​and Applications" OOPSLA, which he visits every year. He initiated the popular " OOPSLA Workshop Design Festival ".
