Ralph Lauren
Ralph Lauren ( born October 14, 1939 in Bronx County, New York City, as Ralph Lifshitz ) is an American fashion designer and founder of the fashion company Polo Ralph Lauren.
Life
Early years
Ralph Lauren was born as the son of Fraydl and Frank Lifshitz, a house painter. His parents had emigrated as Ashkenazi Jews of Pinsk in Belarus in the United States. Lauren first attended the Marsha Stern Talmudical Academy, but moved to the DeWitt Clinton High School later. During this time he earned his first money by selling ties to his fellow students. The age of twelve, he invested the money earned in expensive suits. In 1957, he reached his conclusion. At 16 years, Ralph Lauren and his two brothers Terry and Lenny decided to change their name. Career
Lauren has never trained as a fashion designer.
