Ralph Palmer, 12th Baron Lucas

Ralph Matthew Palmer, 12th Baron Lucas and 8th Lord Dingwall ( born June 7, 1951) is a British nobleman and politician.

Ralph Palmer is the son of Major Robert Jocelyn Palmer (son of Roundell Palmer, 3rd Earl of Selborne ) and 11th Baroness Lucas and 7th Lady Dingwall. He was married three times. In 1978 he married his first wife, Marie Clarrissa Lockett. In 1995, the marriage ended in divorce and he married the same year Amanda Atha. After her death in 2000 he married in 2001 his third wife Antonia Kennedy Rubinstein. From the first marriage is a son and a daughter and emerged from the third marriage of a daughter.

He attended Twyford School in Hampshire and went on to study at Balliol College, Oxford physics. After training as a Chartered Accountant in 1976, he worked from 1976 to 1988 in SG Warburg & Co Ltd. .. He is editor of The Good Schools Guide, a directory of British schools and Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Mercers.

He is a member of the Supervisory Board of the company founded by AC Grayling 's New College of the Humanities.

Policy

With his mother's death in 1991 he inherited the title as 12th Baron Lucas and 8th Lord Dingwall. With the title of a seat in the House of Lords was connected. He was from 1994 to 1997 and Lord in Waiting 1997-1998 Shadow Lords Minister for International Development.
