Ram Bahadur Bomjon

Ram Bahadur Bomjon ( born April 9, 1990, sometimes Bomjan or banyan ), also known as Palden Dorje (his official name as a Buddhist ) or by the nickname Buddha Boy is a young Buddhist monk from the village Ratanapuri in Bara district, Nepal whose behavior attracted thousands of visitors and media attention caused.

About it was reported that he would meditate for months without food or water. He began his meditation on 16 May 2005, disappeared from his home town on 11 March 2006, appeared elsewhere in Nepal on 25 December 2006 back to March 8, 2007 only to disappear again. On 26 March 2007, Bomjon pulled into an underground bunker in Nepal back to there, by its own account, to meditate without eating, drinking and sleeping for three years.

Childhood

According to his family and neighbors Bomjon behaved already in early childhood strikingly different than their peers, watching other people in worship and prayer itself Next he had a peaceful nature, had never become violent and was opposed to the killing of animals. From the age of five years he had nourished only by the remains of others and would rather have starved if no residues were available. The legend -like reports are thus similar to the striking childhood depictions of other self-proclaimed prophets and saints, such as Osho or Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

He was picked up by Sombahadur Lama in a seminary. There he refused to kahlzurasieren his head, as is customary for Buddhist monks. Photos show him with full head of hair. At the end of his apprenticeship he went to Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha, but instead of returning there with the rest of the priestly class home, he went to Dehradun to get more teaching hours.

After returning from Dehradun he fell ill for some time. After recovery, he retained a limp. On 16 May 2005 he urged his family not to kill any more animals or drinking alcohol, and left in the night unnoticed the house. In the subsequent search they found him meditating under a nearby fig tree. He asked his family to return home and not to worry. When his mother desperate, he took six leaves from the tree, gave it to her and said, "Take these leaves and gather them safely If you lose these leaves, you will not be able to rediscover myself, if you keep them. . I'll be with you forever. "

On 24 July 2005, he opened his eyes and told his brother that he could call him " Om Namo Buddha Gyani ". This is translated differently. One possibility is " Hail, wise Buddha" in. Other translations say, the phrase Buddha Gyani mean less " wise Buddha" as "one who has knowledge ( gyan ) of Buddha ."
