Ramacca

Ramacca is a city in the Province of Catania in the Italian region Sicily, with 10,796 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Ramacca is located 46 km west of Catania. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture, the cattle trade and the removal of salts and sulfur.

The neighboring municipalities are Agira (EN), Aidone (EN), Assoro (EN), Belper, Castel di Judica, Lentini (SR ), Mineo, Palagonia, Paternò and Raddusa.

History

Ramacca was founded in 1688. Founding family was the family Gravina, which it received the title Prince.
