Castle of Ramana

The Castle of Ramana is a ruined hill fort in the village Ramana on the Absheron Peninsula in Azerbaijan, which was part of the chain attachment on the peninsula. The castle is located on a natural rocky outcrop, which also forms its foundation. The construction period is estimated on the basis of the style of the 14th century.

The courtyard of the castle is surrounded by a wall, but is no longer intact. Its four corners are provided with round bastions. A protruding circular portal in the west is the entrance to the castle. In the middle of the courtyard is the residential tower are at the four corners also find four round bastions. The residential tower whose staircase starts from the ground floor, has four floors. The upper and the lower space is complete with stone ceiling, the middle with wood -beamed ceilings.
