Ramat Aviv

Ramat Aviv is a north-western part of the district I ​​in Tel Aviv, north of the River Yarkon. History

Prior to the Arab-Israeli war of 1948 there was the Arab village of al - Shaykh Muannes (Arabic الشيخ مؤنس ) on parts of where now stands Ramat Aviv. The University of Tel Aviv was built on the former ground of the village. The last surviving house now houses the club house and the university canteen.
