Ramban Synagogue

The oldest synagogue in Jerusalem is the Ramban Synagogue, whose origins can be traced back to Ramban ( Nachmanides ). When he came to Jerusalem in 1267, he had found there and started to build a Jewish community only two Jews.

At first, he built a synagogue in a ruined building on Mount Zion, but later they moved to the place where the synagogue still stands (corner of Rehov Ha Yehudim and place of the Jewish Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem ).

1523, the synagogue was rebuilt in 1586 closed by the Ottoman governor, destroyed by the Jordanians after 1948 and rebuilt after the Six-Day War.
