Ramosch with the Florinus Church

Ramosch ( [ rɐmɔ ː ʃ ] / i;? German outdated and until 1943 officially Remüs ) is a place in the Lower Engadine and was the name of an existing end of 2012 political community in the same district, District Inn, in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland.

On 21 October 2011, the separated, which meets community meetings of Tschlin and Ramosch agreed to a merger agreement that was approved in April 2012 by the cantonal parliament. The since January 1, 2013 merged municipality called Valsot.

Geography

Ramosch is located at about 1'236 m above sea level. M. on the left side of the valley of the Inn exit of the Val Sinestra. To Ramosch include Vnà, Seraplana and Rasch Vella. Language and Population

The language of the inhabitants is Vallader, a Grison Romanesque dialect. In 1880 gave 86 %, 1910 95 % and 1941 92 % Romansh as their native language. From Ramosch comes the important poet Luisa Famos.

Economy and infrastructure

Ramosch is the starting point for many hikes in the area. There is a toboggan run from Vnà after Ramosch. The nearest ski Motta Naluns situated on the territory of the neighboring community of Scuol.

In Ramosch cross-country skiing is applied in winter. The community also lies on the cross-country ski along the Inn from Scuol to Martina.
