Ramotswa is the capital of the ethnic group of Balete, belonging to the Nguni.

Economy

The city's economy is dominated by the production of flour and smaller metalworking companies. Only one-fifth of the city area is used for agriculture.

In Ramotswa existed for many years, the Bamalete Lutheran Hospital, which was founded by the Hermannsburg Mission. This hospital provides much of southern Botswana, in some subject areas and the entire country medical.
