Origin and History

The Rampur Hound is a rare smooth - haired Sighthound from North India, from the territory of Rampur, between Delhi and Bareilly.

The ruler of Rampur Ahmed Ali Khan Bahadur bred this breed with the help of best foreign breeds such as Tazi, Afghans and English Greyhounds, with the aim of hunting use on wild pigs. The result should have far exceeded expectations. He had created a smart dog who pursued the boar with cunning, even if he had been seriously injured.

Description
