Ramswaroop Verma

Ramswaroop Verma ( born August 22, 1923 Gaurikaran village, Uttar Pradesh; † August 19, 1998 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh ) was an Indian civil rights. He is the founder of humanistic association Arjak Sangh.

Life

Verma studied at the University of Allahabad and the University of Agra. He rejected the existence of God and the soul. He also rejected the concepts of karma and fatalism. He argued forcefully against Brahmanism and the caste system and for the rights and freedom of citizens. He founded the weekly newspaper Arjak Saptahik. He was influenced by Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.
