Raná (Chrudim District)

Raná ( German Ranna ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers northeast of Hlinsko and belongs to Okres Chrudim.

Geography

Raná is located in the valley of the river and its tributary Raná Žejbro north of Saarer Mountains and southeast of the Iron Mountains. With the higher-lying Vojtěchov, where there is also the train stop is located, Raná forms a coherent settlement area in Ranátal.

Neighboring towns are Oflenda, Mrákotín and Oldřetice in the north, Pokřikov in the east, in the southeast Vojtěchov, Medkovy Kopce in the southwest and Holetín in the West.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1349 as part of the rule Richburg. It is believed that the festivals Raná was built in the 15th century. At the Raná three grinding mills and a sawmill were operated. Mainly, though, the villagers lived by agriculture. Since 1786 Raná vicarage was created in 1799 and the rectory.

The municipality consists of the villages Raná Medkovy Kopce ( Medkaberg ) Oldřetice ( Oldretitz ) and Raná ( Ranna ).

Attractions

  • St. James church in the village square, the Gothic structure is detectable since 1380 1718 was a baroque remodeling. Later the church was changed nor in neo-Gothic style
