Rana is a commune in the province of Nordland in Northern Norway.

Rana is located south of the Arctic Circle, on the south side of Saltfjellet Mountains, where the Svartisen glacier is located. Of the 25 779 inhabitants ( as of March 31, 2013) a population of about 18,200 inhabitants in the administrative center of the municipality, the city of Mo i Rana.
