Ranarim

Ranarim was a Swedish folk band. Recently, it consisted of Ulrika Bodén (vocals, flute), Johanna Bölja Hertzberg (vocals), Niklas Roswall ( nyckelharpa ) and Daniel Ek (guitar, mandola ). The band played a mixture of folk songs and original compositions, taking influences from modern genres such as pop music, cover, with their interpretations.

Name

Ranarim means " Tauteppich " ( rana is a tapestry or a carpet; rim is the old Swedish word for " dew ").

Band History

The band of Sofia Sandén, Ulrika Bodén, Niklas Roswall and Jens Engelbrecht was founded during their time together at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm.

Niklas Roswall won the 1992 Riksspelman Prize and 1996, the nyckelharpa World Championship. Among other things, he published a solo album and making music in Nyckelharporkestern.

Ulrika Bodén and Sofia Sandén were also members of Rosenberg's sjua or R7, a company founded by Susanne Rosenberg Women's a capella group.

With the song skulle jag sörja of Ranarims second album conveyor världen älskar vad som är brokot a well-known eponymous poem by the Swedish poet Lasse Lucidor was set to music.

End of 2010, the band broke up due to family and professional reasons.
