Randolph Bresnik

James Randolph " Randy " Bresnik ( born September 11, 1967 in Fort Knox, Kentucky, United States) is an American astronaut.

Bresnik 1989 he received a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the military academy " The Citadel " in South Carolina in 2002 and a master's degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

In May Bresnik joined the United States Marine Corps. After his training he was employed and as a test pilot and as a pilot instructor. Even during the Second Gulf War, he flew several combat missions.

Astronauts activity

In May 2004 Bresnik was selected as a pilot with the 19th NASA astronaut candidate group. In February 2006 he completed his astronaut training.

Bresnik was nominated in September 2008 for the Space Shuttle mission STS -129. He started on 16 November 2009 with the space shuttle Atlantis to the International Space Station (ISS).

Private

Bresniks daughter Abigail Mae was born on 21 November 2009, while he happened to find himself in space. This was after the birth of Mike Fincke's daughter the second time that a NASA astronaut at the time of the birth of his child in the universe was in June 2004. Bresnik and his wife Rebecca have a son, whom she had previously adopted in the year as a baby from the Ukraine.
