Randolph County (Indiana)

Randolph County is a county located in the state of Indiana in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Winchester.

Geography

The County is located in the east of Indiana, bordering Ohio and has an area of 1174 square kilometers, of which one square kilometers of water surface. It borders in Indiana clockwise to the following counties: Jay County, Wayne County, Henry County and Delaware County.

History

Randolph County was formed on January 10, 1818 from parts of Wayne County. It was named after Randolph County, North Carolina, from which came most of the early settlers.
