Randolph Roque Calvo

Randolph Roque Calvo ( born August 28, 1951 in Agana, Guam ) is Roman Catholic Bishop of Reno, United States.

Life

Randolph Roque Calvo came in 1957 with his parents and six older siblings to San Francisco. He studied for his school Catholic theology at California's St. Patrick's Seminary in Menlo Park, and received on 21 May 1977, the ordained priest for the Archdiocese of San Francisco. He then worked as a curate in two parishes of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, before was sent to further study in Rome, where he was in 1986 his Doctor of Canon Law. From 1987 to 1997 Calvo headed the legal department of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, he was president of the American Society of Church Law 1996. In the years 1997 to 2005, he served as pastor a large church in Redwood City. In addition, he took on various tasks in the training of future priests of the Archdiocese of San Francisco.

Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 23 December 2005 as Bishop of Reno. The Bishop Randolph Roque Calvo ordained on 17 February 2006 by the Archbishop of San Francisco, George Hugh Niederauer. Co-consecrators were his predecessor Phillip Francis Straling and Auxiliary Bishop John Charles Wester of San Francisco.
